Amenity center cap stone refresher
Our team hand made, shaped, and installed over 200 19”x28” fully custom artisan cap stones for this beautiful amenity center in Canton, Ga.
After the blocks were formed and cured off-site, we hand carved each individual block to add texture and character making no block like its neighbor, but enough control for a uniform look.
The Project…
The Project started by removing the old cap blocks on the entire length of the walls and fire pit. After repairing the top of the wall and installing any loose stone that might have come off during the demolition portion we made sure the walls were secure and stable, then installed over 200 of our hand crafted cap blocks.
Mixed into the original project were various upgrades for their property. We installed a large custom chimney cap over the pool house, dug out and installed a brand new drainage system in their flower beds, drilled 18” weep holes in every wall, tied the peeling retaining wall back to itself by drilling 24” directly through the crack on either side to be able to cement rebar cross ties inside the retaining wall hiding the holes behind stones we removed and put back onto the wall, then sealed all the cap blocks and mortar joints.
